By creating an account and using CommonGood, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use CommonGood. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement. Users between 13 and 17 acknowledge that a parent or guardian is aware of their participation.

2. Account Responsibilities
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • You must provide accurate and truthful information during registration
  • You may not share your account with others or impersonate another person
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
3. Service Activity
  • You agree to participate in service activities in good faith and with integrity
  • Hour logs must accurately reflect actual service performed
  • You agree not to submit fraudulent hour logs
  • Organizations retain the right to verify and approve or reject submitted hours
4. Minor Users (Ages 13–17)
  • Minor users must have parental or guardian awareness of their participation
  • CommonGood limits the personal information of minors visible to organizations
  • Organizations working with minor volunteers must adhere to applicable youth protection laws
  • CommonGood reserves the right to terminate accounts of minors if safety concerns arise
5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
  • Harass, bully, or harm other users
  • Upload malicious content or attempt to compromise platform security
  • Misrepresent your identity or volunteer activity
  • Use automated bots or scrapers against the platform
6. Content

By submitting content (messages, descriptions, hour logs), you grant CommonGood a non-exclusive license to store and display that content for the purpose of operating the platform. You retain ownership of your content.

7. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, at our sole discretion — including but not limited to violations of these terms, conduct that harms other users, fraudulent activity, or any behaviour we determine to be inconsistent with the safety and integrity of the platform. You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings.

8. Disclaimers

CommonGood connects volunteers with organizations but is not responsible for the conduct of organizations or volunteers during activities. Participation in volunteer events is at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CommonGood shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms periodically. We will notify you of material changes. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Network Pulse Polls — Research Data

Our platform includes a feature called Network Pulse — a rotating poll system where users answer questions about their experiences, emotions, and behaviours.

  • Responses are never identifiable by name or email, keeping your answers anonymous. Each response is stored with age and gender only to enable research segmentation. No name, email address, or personal identifier is ever attached to a response in any report or research output.
  • Aggregate, de-identified data from poll responses may be used for research purposes related to adolescent human development, including academic study, program improvement, and publication in educational or scientific contexts.
  • We will never sell individual or aggregate poll data to third parties for commercial purposes.
  • Poll questions are created and moderated by CommonGood administrators to ensure appropriateness and research integrity.
  • For minor users (ages 13–17), participation in polls is covered under the parental consent provided at registration. If you are a parent and wish to opt your child out of poll participation, please contact us at the address below.

By using the Network Pulse feature, you consent to the collection and use of your de-identified responses as described above.
